defensive programming
A downloadable game
A form of defensive design intended to develop programs capable of detecting security risks and making appropriate responses. Overly defensive programming may safeguard against errors that do not exist.
defensive programming is a solo lyric game about game design, Frankenstein's monster, hostile architecture, and the experience of growing up neurodivergent and queer. It's also a game about censorship, and making yourself palatable for an audience. Read what little of the game is left visible and then, maybe, dig beneath the surface to find the full text hidden underneath.
Included is the standard PDF version, as well as a text file. Any donations are greatly appreciated, and you should check out the unofficial prequel here.
(Warning for references to queerphobia and ableism. To read the full text, either copy + paste the game into a new document, or check out the .txt version!)
